No matter how much we wished for the warm weather to stay, or that Indian summer we are always supposedly getting, we can’t help but notice and certainly feel that familiar chill in the air as we head into the colder months.
So while we reach for the jumpers and put extra layers on it’s important to think about the impact the colder weather has on our cars. By all means we are not in the worst of winter yet, but putting in small measures can help us to keep things running smoothly.
Ensure your tyres are in tip top condition. Make sure they have the correct amount of air in them as advised in your cars manual. You can easily check the current PSI and add air if needs be at any petrol station.
Fill up your washer fluid. With worse weather comes residue left on windows which can impact our vision and view of the road. Check you have plenty of washer fluid to keep your windows clean.
Familiarise yourself with your lights. It may have been a while since you have had to put on your fog lights and it may be that you have forgotten how to. Remind yourself of which lights are which and be sure to keep checking they are all fully functional.
We at Cambridge Car Solutions could list endless amounts of tips for you but the main point is to ensure you are adequately prepared for your trip ahead and any difficulties you may face so you are not left at the side of the road feeling that bitter chill.
