    Tyre Replacement Cambridge

    Our Tyre Fitting Services

    New Tyres

We supply a wide variety of new tyres from leading brands. Our premium branded tyres include the likes of Dunlop, Goodyear, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Continental, plus many more. Popular mid-range tyre brands that we sell include Avon, Firestone, Hankook, Uniroyal and Yokohama. From premium and mid-range, to economy and budget, we have a large selection of tyres to suit all budgets and vehicles.

    Part Worn Tyres

We also supply part-worn tyres from many different brands. We make sure these have a tread depth of at least 5mm to ensure there’s plenty of road-use left in them. Replacing your tyres when you need to is important. As well as improving the level of grip on the road, having enough tread also makes your car more efficient and decreases your risk of getting a puncture.

    Tyre Balancing

Having correctly balanced wheels is extremely important. Not only do they make a difference to how comfortable your drive is and how safe your car or vehicle is, but unbalanced wheels can wear out tyres, steering components and suspension joints quicker which makes your vehicle less economical than correctly balanced wheels. An indication that your wheels need balancing is if your steering wheel starts to wobble or vibrate when your speed exceeds 40mph – the faster you go the more your wheel will vibrate.

    Tyre Checks

The legal tyre tread depth is 1.6mm, although for both comfort and safety we recommend replacing them before they reach the minimum depth requirement. There are many factors that affect the life of your tyre, including temperature, driving speed and pressure. Checking the general condition of your tyres is extremely important and we recommend inspecting your tyres regularly to ensure they have not only the correct tread, but also the right amount of pressure. As part of your regular tyre check, make sure you watch out for signs of ageing, such as cracking of the rubber, deformation or uneven tyre wear. At Cambridge Car Solutions our friendly and knowledgeable mechanics are more than happy to perform these checks for you.

    FAQs

How do I know if my tyres are worn?

You will know if your tyre is worn if the inner edge, outer edge, or centre of the tyre tread is less than 1.6mm in depth.

How often should I replace my tyres?

It’s recommended that you replace tyres at least every 10 years from the date of manufacture. However, it’s a good idea to start doing annual checks after the five year mark to be on the safe side and ensure that your tyres are both legal and safe.
